I am trying to figure a ratio question and I've done it 8 ways from Sunday and cannot seem to get the right answer. Here is the question......
What is the ratio of under 15 year old to total population? under 15 is 15,269 and total population is 71,949.express the answer as a decimal rounded correctly to the thousandths place.

71,949 divided by 15269 = 4.7120
so for every 15 year old or whatever, there are 4.7120 older people
